Blessing
of the Animals

Held annually in September at Cathedral Church of the Redeemer, 218 - 7th Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta, you are invited to bring your companion animals to this interdenominational celebration of life.  There is also a special time to honour and remember those beloved pets that have departed.

(Please Note:  The church is most easily accessed by C-train and is located across the street from the northwest corner of Olympic Plaza.  Parking is available behind City Hall or in various pay lots.  There’s a drop off zone beside the church.)

We will provide a date for the 2008 Blessing of the Animals as soon as it is announced.

 

 
The Pet Loss Support Group
(PLSG)

The Pet Loss Support Group of Calgary, Alberta will be dissolving its association by December 31, 2008.  Please take a few moments to read the attached letter which fully explains everything - Windup Announcement 

While there is always a need for compassionate people in the pet industry to deal with pet loss we feel that the time for our group has passed.  

We are celebrating the fact that vets, friends, co-workers and relatives are now stepping up to provide the support that our group offered and that the internet also provides a complete support system.   We feel that it is a celebration that our animal guardians have a wide variety of support systems in place now.

 
We will conduct business as usual until the end of the year.  We will not be collecting membership fees or donations, however, we will continue to sell our inventory of resource materials and our telephone volunteers will be taking calls on the support line.
